2024 won’t be the year I dive into PC gaming, no. However, even though it will be difficult given my real-life situation, I’d really like to make progress on the following quest:
Catching up on the Switch and PS4 game libraries, as well as the GameCube/Wii/Xbox games.
I have about fifty games to catch up on just for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, so I certainly won’t have them all by the end of 2024. Some will even be difficult for me to find, I think (like the Switch version of Fairy Tail).
Starting this January 1st, and as long as I’m able, buying at least one game “released before 2024” per month will be a good start. I need to take advantage of lulls in new releases (or games that simply don’t interest me) to look into the games I didn’t buy in previous years.
I actually need to redo my game list, which is just poorly maintained, being on a random notepad. Since the end of December, I’ve been trying to formalize everything in an Excel file, where I already have the games I own with their completion level and playtime (console data). I’d like to unify everything, but for now I have two separate spreadsheets.
One very specific case: importing. I need to find a way to get the Shantae games distributed by Limited Run Games (on Switch, I only have Half-Genie Hero, which is the only Shantae game distributed in Europe by PQube). As for Japanese games, I have two or three Switch games I’d like to get, including the definitive version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (including the cartridge DLC).
Regarding retro gaming, I’ll definitely be spending more time at Micromania, Game Cash, and Cash Converters this year. And if you have any recommendations on this, feel free to leave them in the comments. My only regret is not having started all this sooner because I’m dreading a lot of things in real life in 2024 (including moving).
Other resolutions I have would be to get back on Twitch or start writing new articles for the Waifukyo group again, haha.
